As a straight, new Star Trek game, it's great. As a sequel to Elite Force, it's decent (asides from the Borg vessels and your weapons looking nothing like those in the first game, and all of your non-Starfleet weapons being no longer available).

Multi-player is like Quake 3 with Star Trek  weapons, models and levels.  It has more of a Quake 3 feel than a trek feel.  The levels have a quake 3 feel to them more than Trek.  Very unlike Jedi Knight 2 which has taken the Quake 3 engine and enhanced it and made it look and feel Star Wars.

The single player is very well done and has a nice story and character interaction.  There are a few puzzles and they have added some usefullness to the tricorder to solve some of the puzzles.

Its a great Trek game but if you are looking for something new in a FPS its more of the same really.

Buy it for the SP.  It really shines there.

I wasted my cash and bought it.  It sucks.  Weapons are a pain to use.  Various other things.  Played the single player for a while up to a point and then got smacked by one of the stupid puzzles.  Too hard a puzzle and no time.

That was a little over 2 months ago and have not touched it since.

The first EF was fun and I played it all the way through.

Wait, save your money for Half Life 2 or Doom 3.

Would you consider selling it?

I Bought it a week after it came out.  SP mode was ok but had a lot of pointless puzzles and boring missions.  The enemy are mostly spiderlike things that have nothing to do with trek.  MP is basicly Quake 3 with weapons that look like trek weapons.

If you want a good FPS  try AAO  its free.

Thats just my opinion so don't flame me.  If I have offended anyone i'm sorry.
