I haven't heard much lately about this utility being made. I was really hoping some sort of release was coming soon, heck is the guy creating it even working on it at all???

I'm asking becuase I'm thinking about making a Semi-SFB mode for SFC3 (ie. an Balanced Mod) with my custom built ships I'm making at the moment. i suppose I could do all the editing by other means, but a utility would definitly make things easier.

You cant be too pushy on it as hes doing this with free time as a hobby.

i under stand your frustration about core edit BUT from whit ive seen it will take a lot of different aspwcts of the game and make them anle to be modded. hence a long time to make the program.as long as we see core edit befor im too old to play

ill be happy. BTW hope the progress is going well. wish i hade the programing knoldge to help ya .

Hello,

I'm sorry I haven?t been around in a while so here's an update....
.... Unfortunately work on CoreEdit has slowed a bit, as I am currently working full time, and the summer heat has made my house unbearably hot upstairs (where my computer is). I will keep working on it when I can, however, and will make an announcement when I am certain that the beta version is ready

Ahh, those Summer nights, with the cool breeze gently blowing through the window screen, the song of the crickets outside, and the quiet hum of the desktop florescent and the fan sitting on the chair...

Hi, I'm kinda a lurker here. What exactly is this core edit program supposed to do? I ask because I have experience in VB.NET, and I am wortking on a program to read the DefaultCore.txt file for SFC3 and allow you to mod ships that way.

I assume this Core Edit is similar. Am I correct?

Yup, its similar to shipedit, wat was used to mod the shiplist in Sfc 1 and 2
