Milkshape plugins, the next generation

Hi all,

Its been a while!

As of today the milkshape plugins have got an immense refit, including native hardpoint editing (although assimview may still be needed to tweak them). It includes extreme compatibility with Armada (stock models -- people wanting an unprotected Armada importer must contact one of the assigned entrustees) and Bridge Commander (which does have unprotected importers included) so you can port mods very easily indeed.

Please don't ask me about how to make the hardpoints, as I really do not know how it works well. The importer works as an excellent example of how to construct models, but it doesn't tell you how to use milkshape.

One big fix for the SFC importer is that of texturing... now I realise some people were correct before when pointed out texturing errors on import, and this is now corrected.

Have fun!

Chris

p.s. I am sorry if chaos is following me: people will understand what I mean when they install this and read the included text. This needed to be done by someone and it might as well have been me.

Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you.

Very nice package. I especially like the hard point editing!!  Is there a way to do a break model?

Also, I appreiciate you handling the sod imports responsibly. Your creativity is to be commended.

Thanks again,

I think breakpoints are just like any other model, just that they look different.

I've fixed a couple of problems pertaining to SFC import, http://www.assimsoft.com/incoming/Milkshape%20Plugins%20TNG%20R2.zip

I must be missing something, but I can't figure out how to export for Armada 1. When I go to File/Export the drop down list does not list an Armada 1 export, only Armada 2.  In the readme you mention that they had been condensed into one so I attempted an import of a stock Armada 1 model and then exported it with the Armada 2 model and it didn't work in the game. So I figure that I am mission the A1 exporter. Also, before I installed the new import/export pack, I had the old A1 exporter, but after installation, that one doesn't show up either.  Please help.

Thanks,

Hi.

There is now only one Armada exporter which shouldn't be labelled as an A2 exporter (and it isn't on my computer certainly).. if you have joints in the model (from an sfc import for example), then they must be put into a proper Armada node hierachy, or just deleted.

Regards,

Chris
