Tutorial Fails

Star Trek: Starfleet Command III:

I thought a tutorial was supposed to teach you the game. I just recently purchased the game and I wanted to learn the ropes.. but while Capt. Picard is going through the first tutorial, a screen pops up, and there is text there where I'm being scolded (calling me a cadet, disappointed etc). It interrupts the Capt while he's telling me how to do certain actions in the game.. is this on purpose?

Actually i did play the tutorials, but i didn't find anything out of the ordinary.

Why isn't this whole tutorial explained by some stealthy Romulan? That Picard baldhead knows absolutely nothing about Romulan ships and weapons. Flying these ships is not flying a run-of-the mill-fed ship. The only thing he knows well enough is to fear them.

Hmm...funny, the Fed tutorials seems to work splendidly for me, however, the Rom tutorial went awry when for some reason the instructor lost his data pad, froze up in a total "oh god, I don't know what to do," substitute teacher kind of way, and left me hanging with no further progression of the lesson.

Is it just me, or have you Roms cut back on training efforts for new cadets? It seems apparent every time I blow one of you away with my "run-of-the-mill" Akira class.

Well maybe if you'd actually hunt down something larger than a Talon you'd find we're a lot more competant than merely bringing down your shields before we blow up!

 Just teasing back.

LOL on that my friend. But I would never shoot at a Talon while in a Akira, unless you happen to be part of a strike force invading sector 001 or Risa (I hear its nice there this time o' year   ). Both are highly unlikely scenarios since you Roms *naturally* prefer more subtle methods of war...

However, I'm fairly confident a properly equipped akira or defiant could, quite possibly, mono y mono, cloaking on your part or not, take on just about any ship class in the Rom fleet (this could change post-patch). The same couldn't be said about the Klinks on the other hand...

Actually, I also had trouble with the tutorial number 1. On mine, there is no instruction after 'engage warp', so I either have to stop, and wait excessive amounts of time to no avail, or leave the sector. And, before we get into this debate, two things. One: Captain Picard is the PERFECT man to teach newbies how to steer. Two: Notice how the tutorials go fed-->klink--->Romulan? As in a progression of difficulty?

Seriously now, its just a tutorial. Unless you ran into a bug like I did, there is absolutely no way that you should lose to any of them.
