Patch releases for SFC 3 is done by Activision, not Taldren... Taldren makes the patch,, then submits to Activision, Activision tests patch, QA's patch, then if deemed good, releases patch...

if not, then it goes back to Taldren with a bug report for more fixing.... however Activision is taking their time on testing builds Taldren sends them.. like Months between builds...

OP patches on the other hand is supported by Taldren as Interplay gave Taldren permission to support games after Official Support ended.. Thus Taldren is free to release their own patch at a time of their choosing.. Interplay still indirectly supports the SFC games they published by directing people by call in or Email to these forums for Taldren's Occifial Support (instead of Interplay's Customer Support)...

it all has to do with money and contracts.

Let it rest as that..

Taldren (David Ferrell) stated that SFC 3 is not ended on support... and we are still working on test builds... any release dates have not been set, however, just know that we are working on SFC 3 and a patch will be out when it is done, either by Activision or by permission from Activision.

BTW - Thanks Dave, Beta Testers, and everyone at Taldren that helped produce a game I'm still playing three or four computer generations after I bought it.
