Using /tell command

Nice feature for sending messages while in MP on the map screen. Any particular reason why you can't send and receive messages while in game? Be nice to know what to expect when coming out of a mission. Just a thought on what I would consider a reasonable expectation. If there is another command that can do this, enlightenment would be greatly appreciated.

For that matter there should be an "Allied" channel available in addition to "General" and the respective empire channels.  This would VASTLY improve strategic play for servers with alliances.

I am mostly concerned about the fact that team chat is broken (in the tactical screen). You think you are talking to your teammates, but, in fact, everyone can hear you...

Yeah.  Here's me:

/team Form line astern of the flag and don't kill Gary7.  Concentrate fire on Polaris.
/team KILL Polaris.

Must have made it easy for them... ha ha

all great suggestions!

1.) an in game messaging mode. They use the same chat server after all.

2.) Allied Channel! I wanted this since assimilation

3.) team chat. (I thought it works? I tried team chat and asked my enemy if he saw it, he answer in the negative. I used "ctrl-enter" not the "/team" switch)

4.) (this is more of a pipe dream...) fix the chat so that all players can use the "tell" commands. As is, there are situations where the player get a long string of numbers. (ThreeDot14214795348594768943) after their name, and renders the tell command inoperative. It's been here since SFC2...

Hi guys

The reson that you can't have a chat channel that will work from D3 Map to Combat engine is becuse as soon as you connect to combat engine you leave the server, And play the combat p2p  So you are disconnecting from all chat channels.

Also i belive the reason there are no more channels is becuse GSA and D3 can only support up to 9 Channels.....Thats why the pirates don't have one is OP
