Never begin that which you cannot finish!
« on: July 28, 2003, 05:55:34 pm »
Ok, been away for a few days - had problems with my cable provider.
I've got a list of things as long as my arm that I am supposed to be doing, including:

-Nemesis yard for mp2
-Norway textures for James Formo
-2 texture sets for Mackie
-Chimera textures for Major A Payne
-Klingon textures for Rage

EDIT: Add D'Varan Romulan to the list

Here's a quick wip of the Chimera:

Great ship man. And hey no rush on the Norway. I did that mesh about 6 months ago and never had a clue with the textures. I did make up a pirate version though.    Just keep it fun man.  You do up some of the nicest Feds in the Forum.
Myself I think there hard to texture.  Seems like old hat for you though.

btw weren't you working on a Romulan also?  Or is that finished?  Not that I am trying to lengthen you list or anything

Looks really good, bud! Unfortunately, you seem to be in great demand, as all the good texture artists are. Pataflafla is on the road with his band, Atheorhaven just moved and has that to deal with and now you. See what happens when you get good at something?

Take your time and deal with RL properly...we'll still be here.

Smiley. You've done my model proud for sure. Can't wait to see the finished version though, and please, take your time. Theres no rush at all. I've always noticed that people who take their time always do the best job.

I just wish I could texture that good!!!!!

The Chimera looks great!

I'm no expert, but she looks nearly done to me.

When done, she'll be a fine addition to anyone's Federation fleet.

Any timetable on her?

OMG:eek:

one inaccuracy, the torpedo launchers are incloosed a bit more by the pod. But damn, I'll hafta show this to the author. It'd be interesting to see how his low poly version of chimea 2 competes with this one.

Starforce. When I made this model remember I was working from images you provided me with and they're the same distance that they are in the images.

Hey Smiley
I sent you an e-mail about possibly sending me some examples of what and how you get some of your texturing effects.  I have to texture a new NOVA Z1 class Romulan battlecruiser.  I can place the textures and create them but want them to NOT look too clean or cartoony.

I can understand your time constraints, just let me know if you can or not for now.

Here is the link to the NOVA thread.

Thanks

Hope your back online soon.

Sorry to hear about all the time you spend walking, but think of the shape you will be in after it is done.

Very nice. Say Smiley. I havn't been able to get your Vanguard and another ship of yours to be loaded by SFC3. I can't figure out why unless its just that it  is taking so long cause of the textures. But on 1 of em the caher won't even make an mod.x file .

I know its normal for the recacher  to crash but it has always at least made an x file. It will do it for the break but not the standardm mod. I think that was the Wycombe (sp?)  I noticed that it had naming problems with the damage points. For example duplicates like d1 d2 d2 d3 d3 and missing e2  or something. So I renamed them but it still wouldn't load in skirmish after waiting 5 minutes. My compter is an 800 mhz AMD btw.

Oh right...I'll have a look into that when I get a few free minutes! I apologise if it seems that I haven't been paying attention to the forums and any questions that anyone has asked me - I have been..."out of touch" so to speak

Thanks for the support!
