Thinking about the way cloak is now handled with the latest OP patch (the jury's still out, but the general sentiment appears to be "different and not clearly worse or better" given the downgraded version of the weapon table, use of effective range, use of ECM shifting, got me thinking: how many other things have been changed from the original OP manual such that it essentially warrants a rewrite of the entire thing?

Would anyone be interested in a thread that simply listed, in numbered rule/paragraph style, the SFB series of manuals?  Naturally, lifting of text from either ADB's or Taldren's publications wouldn't be allowed, but it would provide a central repository for all the systems of the game, damage charts, etc, etc.

Heck, we could even have a section linking to the 'unofficial but recommended' patches, ie the OP+ shiplist, NuclearWessels mission packs, installation directions, to make this as seamless a transition for SFB players as possible.

Just an idea.

Probably wouldn't be too hard if someone started a thread, and merely cut and pasted rules paragraphs posted by enthusiastic players, periodically updated as patches occur.  Just a huge division of labor.

Any interest in that?

I don't really need a manual, but a Quick Reference Card could be handy.

Yeah, along the lines of the Master Weapons Table from SFB, but with current OP numbers and notes...

Excellent.

PS, Dave has something like this for SFC 3 pegged at the top...
