New O.P. bug

I have tried  patching from 38 and also tried a fresh install and patch and with both I have received a random blacking out of the display between the 2 ship schematics on the bottom left of the screen, that provides the ecm display and other info like weapons status. When this blacking out occurs, I cannot fire on a target until pressing the red alert hot key, at which point the display returns. Anyone else seen this?

Do EW, Tractor and transporter panels show up if you click the buttons? Do you weapons load properly?

What you are describing sounds like an Empty weapon selection. (like many default weapon group 4's) It blacks out and cannoy fire (since no weapon is selected) While Red Alert reselects all weapons.

If it ever blacks out again try selecting weapon group 1. Or call up a subsysten (tractor etc) panel. Or click on a weapon hardpoint individually.

when this occurs please press F12. This action will take a screen shot and save it in your SFCOP directory:  C:-->Program Files-->Taldren Software Inc-->Starfleet Command Orion Pirates

There you should find a bitmap file SCRxxxxx (each x being any number from 0-9 depending on the number of screen shots in your folder).

Please email that screenshot to myself or Firesoul so that we can see exactly what is going on.

No "sounds like" about it. It is an exact description of an empty weapons group.

I tried flying a ship I hadn't since the clean install and you called it. #4 was blank and produced the effect. As for before, when patching  from 38, I'll assume the same thing. Thanks folks.

I thought that group 4 came as the missile group? I can almost say that i know for certian that it does in EAW at least.

I'm just surprised there's anyone who doesn't reassign the weapon groups to fit their preferences.

Me, I wish there was a #5 selection sometimes.. especially for pirates.
