USS enterprise model from Bandai
« on: July 17, 2003, 03:00:20 pm »
I just bought that sucker this morning and let me tell you I can't wait to start working on it tonight.

The detail on it is incredible. The only thing I'm a bit disappointed with is that it looks pretty small in the box (original 1701-A  saucer section from AMT was a lot bigger.

Paid $143.00 Cdn tax included. Original price was $125.00 witrhout tax. Maybe I got screwed or not, but It will be the best ST item I ever bought. SFC included.

Looking forward to bying the Enterprise-E this winter. Hopefully they will make an Excelsior class. And the original tv series.

Yeah, it's a sweet looking model, but am I alone in being disappointed in it's being pre-painted and detailed? I kind of like to do that stuff myself.

Well I'm not.

I want a collection of all Enterprise model lighted and everything but I'm not good enough with painting and such. So for me this is the package.

Hopefully will have more to come.

You may have payed a bit much:

http://www.hlj.com/cgi-perl/hljpage.cgi?BAN916192

Add shipping on top of that for your total, but hey you supported
the local economy.

Thanks,

Dave

Canadian dollars.

From what I see I think the original price of the US dollar was 85 or around that. If you do the number it would come to about the same price Canadian. Then taxes.

But I think it's worth it.

I bought the fiber optic model of Enterprise D a few years back for $75 tax included. But I have to do it myself. This one I just have to put togeter so it's a bargain.

By the way Dave, thanks for posting the link a few weeks ago.

Ill check the link again when I get home.

e-hobbies has the same model for sale at $59.99 (USD) before shipping. I preordered mine from there for $49.99 (USD) which still saves me $20 (USD) if I bought it from HLJ

I built this kit in less than 3 hours and looks like a 3 weeks job.  In referrence to the piant scheme, it well worth the money as it is correct.  Very high detail and paint work.  Be carefull though final assembly of the secondary section with all the electronics was very much a pain in my "A".  Looks great though (hope they do a scimitar)
