GRAND OPENING! HERITAGE SHIPYARDS
« on: July 18, 2003, 02:24:57 pm »
Seeing as how most of my stuff is pre-TOS, and will continue to be in the forseeable future, I re-designed and re-named my site. Still converting everything over, but I think it looks good. Just a basic design, but sometimes those are best.

Please take a gander.

Thanx guys!!

Smiley, everything seems fine to me...just need to do the readme still, then upload. RL got in the way, and I didn't get as much done as I wanted to on it, and then got distracted by re-building my site.

As to the site, like it says on the main page, model d/l's are at my geocities site...just linked them together. So, unfortunately, there may be a problem with d/l limits. I'm still in the process of correcting the d/l problem for the main site, so for now I have to do it this way.

Wow! That is a very appropriate name for your site!

Thanks for sharing these fine ships with us.

Thanx KF!

I thought it was appropriate; took long enough to think up the name though. My thinker just doesn't work as well as it used to, lol.

Actually, I've had my own place for awhile...Starfleet Engineering Design Lab. I originally thought that I would be doing TNG+ era ships, creating my own stuff. Well, that didn't pan out. Not yet anyway. Most of what I've done has been pre-TOS, and the more I've done, the more I come to like that era. So, I decided to concentrate on that era for awhile, building my skills...that way I can progress to the next level...TMP! That is the hardest for me to do!! I just can't figure out how to do the TMP nacelles. But, as I said, pre-TOS is really growing on me. As I build 'em and work on 'em, in my mind I'm coming up with a story about that time period. Think of it...Our 1st real major war with an alien empire, never seeing the face of the enemy because rather than be captured, they blew up their ships. And the ships they were in had a tendency of catastrophic warp overloads. Scary time to be in space, but they did for the adventure. Like the old days of the sailing ships. No luxuries, the crew sleeping in hammocks in the engineering spaces. Missions take months...warp 3.6 (old scale),  it took 18 days to travel 9 ly.

Anyway, thanx! Sorry for the rambling...if you can't tell I'm really getting into pre-TOS. Suffice it to say, I just changed my site to more accurately reflect my interests.

Thanx LV! As for the DAP mod, I'd love to help, but right now I have too much on my plate as it is. I joined a team for another mod, but haven't been able to do anything on it...trying to get back into things...was gone for awhile. I always bite off more than I can chew, then get nothing done scrambling trying to get it all done at once. I'm trying to learn patience.
