textures dont appear!
« on: July 15, 2003, 01:52:08 am »
I downloaded a 3ds format or the Escalibur Class, and when I imported into my Studio Max, and exported into a mod format I thought the model would appear as normal but I was wrong, instead it only showed 1 texture out the many in the whole model, i assume theres something I can do to fix this, I open the mod file in notepad and saw that the textures were named wrong except for that one that showed up, and many werent applied, is there anyhwere to fix this also, for FYI, I have max and the PSP 7.0, if that information helps, when explaining, thanks guys

the textures have to be of a matching size, like 256x256, or such- I believe that is the limit- if its too bog, or off, it won't show up... or so I understand.

Thats the way I understood it as well, so I make sure each image is resized the exact same way but still, that did not work

It's possible the texture is wrong at mesh level.

How does it render in max? Does it have textures? (does it complain about UVW mapping?)

If they show up, remember that SFC engine only accept BMP Windows Bitmap file. No other. (There were rumors it accepts pcx, but I heard no confirmation) Max accepts quite a few more formats. So even if it shows, you still have to check the formats.

I think the tex can go as high as 512, (if not higher) the rule is it has to be 2 to the power of something. (2^8=256 etc.)

If they don't, then you need to repally them in max. That will take a lot more explaining, try look for Joker's Video tutorial on that subject.
