very righteous, and an excellent choice. Is that a Norman design?
I once knew of someone to make me a good combat-ready nodouchi.... I have used katanas before, they're allright... but i put my hands on a nodouchi, and have never been the same.

I am unsure if she could be considered a norman design...I basically told the smith what i wanted and he made it. I based it off of the basic swords he has at his site...threw the Hex pommel on there for my signiature and the Annells (the rings) so i could finger the blade (put my finger over the crossguard for more control) without risking getting my finger cut off.

Steelviper, I lost the address of the forger I was going to have build me my sword of choice... he lives within the state I live in, but it'd be a needle in the proverbial haystack... do you think it would be intrusive of me to ask you how to contact him, to submit ot him a request of my own? You know, to see what he/she thinks? Thats a pretty wild design, if he/she can do that, the surely mine wouldn't be too much more challenging than that beauty you got there.

Honestly, i dont think the smith who made Azel would have an issue.

In fact here are two Smiths i know of who i highly recommend

first the guy who made Azel - www.popinj.com located in maine
and the other - www.odinblades.com located in NY

those are some great links- I used to know of a place called St. Michael's Emporium...they sold leather goods; it was only mail-order, not internet-based (that I knew of), but the catalog was beautifully done, and the work was not only very unusual, but very  very nice work.... wish it still existed, so I could point it out... always been looking for a good costume place- always had a fetish for cosplay, although I'm too old for that now...

thanks for the links, and enjoy that sword!
