Thanks James- a very TMP era Hydran, if I am correct- fits rather nicely alongside the other Hydran ships!

E_Look  I kinda forgot all about a Hydran base. I'll give it a go. Yea I always thought there were some similarities between the Jem Ha'dar and Hydran. Now that I have gone more into the purple it looks even more so. I have a story to explain the similarities.

Reverend, actually there meant to be TNG era, simply cause that is what I am modding for in OP. The designs borrow heavily from the stock ones so they still fit in late TMP. I wanted to keep the designs close to original since my textures are different. That way they still have a Hydran look to them.  The hff and hca are especially close to stock. Haven't pictured my Hca yet.

Here is a possible design for the hdn. I am not at my computer so I don't  have PSP on this one. Need to remap the textures some yet. Still fiddling with the hca as well. I want to add a hbb class also.
Then a hfa, hft and hms sooner or later.

Allright, I see now... I liked adding TNG to OP also- either way, its a really nice ship; I'd like to see that HCA when you get finished, I know it'd be a marvel too!

E_Look. Here is my 1st attempt at a starbase. Its the most obvious and least work hehe (using just warp drives and impulse engines)  So it has mega power but no wepons yet- hmmmm.  Open to sugestions on this.  Not sure if this one is workable or not. The pic on the right is eithe the hcv or the hbb-havn't decided yet. Actually it could be the hdn as I doubt I would use both of these last 2 variants, as they are quite similar.

Nice start, James!

It's always a good idea to start with something you can hold onto, like a symmetrical design.  Then you can carry the football and run down field as far as you like!  Or you can change venues and beam onto a baseball stadium, go to leftfield and do some Darkdronish asymmetrical starbase designs, such as some of his Klingon or Borg designs... not to tell you what to do or compare you to another modeler; you guys are too uniquely gifted for that.

The heavy cap ship looks good.  I think, though that it's kind of too slender to be a carrier, unless the length is used for fighter storage and launching.  Maybe I'm too used to real life carriers- with enough width for a very good pilot to land.

Still, both designs are in the right direction- Hydran stuff seems more rounded than other races boats; even in TMP, the most angularly designed ships of any era.

Play ball!

Well the starbase is on the back burner for now.  The cl class I released would probably make the best carrier- but its already sized and all.

Well the top pic is the HMS Majestic. Hopefully I will release it in a day or so.

2nd pic (collage of 6 ships) are all available at my Yahoo club for your Hydran campaigns.  Still uploading 3 as I type.

Get em here http://groups.yahoo.com/group/sfcmodels/    under files.

The regent.zip also contains the fighter and shuttle.

The HMS Omen is available at my Yahoo club as a Hbb class. Hp's done. I believe all my Hydrans have the lightmaps assigned correctly.  I can't tell for sure as my video card does not read lightmaps on any ships that anyone has made.

If the ship is lit. It would be cool if someone would post a screen of it so I could see it.

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/sfcmodels/       Look for the Omen zip under files.  6 other Hydrans up as well as shuttle and fighter.

E_Look. Sorry to say I am stuck on the Starbase. I keep baseing it off my ship designs and having trouble coming up with something that won't look like a purple DS9.   I do like the stock Hydran base. May just try a bash of it and retexture it.
At any rate I am kinda bored with Hydrans-hard to create when one is bored. So I"ll take a break from em for a bit and maybe take a peek at ISC ships.

HMS Omen keeping the bops busy.

Ship development -

The HMS Omen incorporates triphasic technology. It has 2 secondary hulls that extend
there seperate shield generators around the ship. The mail hull also does this, so all told
there are 3 shield fields created. Each using a unique frequency. This makes the Omens hull
difficult to penetrate. While not carrying  as many heavy weapons as some other races TNG era
battleships. The Omen is often able to fight a battle of attrition and emerge victorious.

Hey James, no prob.  I was highly flattered and pleased you even considered it!  It's your modeling software- enjoy it... at your pace!  And like someone said in Remus' return thread, there's a new vanguard of quality modelers here, motivated, talented, and as far as we all can see, nicer people... and you're definitely one of them, if not one of the first of them!  I look forward to your ISC stuff.
