USS MOSKVA NCC-374 released!!!
« on: July 08, 2003, 01:48:38 pm »
Finally, I got it finished. She looks pretty good ingame, and she's ready for deployment. I hardpointed her using the standard fca layout...figure she didn't have a lot of firepower in those days. I uploaded the .rar file to my site, here's the d/l link...hopefully it won't be corrupted. If it is, head over to my yahoo group at  SFC_MODELS
Had to take her off of my site, as the files were corrupted. I just uploaded at the SFU model repository...not sure about a direct link, or what catagory it's listed under...just do a search for USS MOSKVA and it will come up.
Here's a few shots of her.

Looks really nice, but 2 things, there's a weird black triangle on the deflector, maybe a missing polygon got deleted by accident? And the second thing is you're missing the lasers on the usual TMP style points around the saucer and the 2 big laser-canon mounted in the 2 circles on the underside of the saucer, the texturing looks very nice but I would have lit up some of the windows, beautiful mesh aswell.

Edit: the weapons loadout is as follows: 8 laser turrets, 1 laser cannon stinger, 2 ultraphased pulse laser cannons, 22 "Spartak" missiles with fusion warheads

Edit again: sorry, you got the laser turrets, most of them I think, haven't checked thouroughly, I mistook the lasers for running lights but I can see you missed the forward firing ones, the top one is right in the middle of the registry above the '-'.

More important edit: the file's corrupted.

Thanx for the info. The triangle, I'm still trying to figure out, but wanted to get this out there, as there has been interest.

The laser turrets...well, I thought those were running lights also. But, this is pre-tos, not TMP, so why would you want TMP style turrets? Difficult to tell what was where from the 4 view pics at SF museum. As for the the big protruding guns in the front, I hate those images. Always make them look like a little kid playing with legos designed it. But, I'll make a version with them, and re-hardpoint to make use of the info yopu gave me. Shouldn't be too hard, just have to add a few things, and I have a backup mesh that is not textured.

As for your final point, for some reason everything gets corrupted from my site. Oh well, just head over to the yahoo group in a few and get her there. Thanx.

The turrets are there because the guy is following the SFB version of the Connie which does indeed have them, we shouldn't suffer for the inneptitud of '60s SFX, engines glow, lasers come from laser turrets and hulls have panels. Also I like the pulse-lasers, I really don't see the lego connection what with bricks an' all. It shows the ship's age, they were a new tech at the time so it's no wonder they're huge things bolted on to the front of the ship.

For the front laser turret, it's visible on the top view of the four-view but it's not 'coloured in', it's clear, if you look at the port-view you can see it better.

OK, I uploaded her at the SFU MODEL REPOSITORY, not sure about a direct link though. Hopefully she wont be corrupted again. Also have her at my yahoo group, and should be ok from there.

Give me a few days, and I'll have the NCC-374A released with the big turrets and new HP for the increase in weaponry. Needs it anyway, as a Klink BOP whooped my butt with the standard fca loadout.

BTW, she runs at approx. 2900 polys...optimizing didn't reduce it enough to be important.

The Wasp has been ready. I have it up at the yahoo group...will be uploading to the SFU Model repository over the next few days all my stuff, including the Wasp and Amarillo. Or, was there something I was supposed to do to it? Can't remember, guess I'm getting old.

Looks really nice Sandman.  It gives me a few ideas for Early Era SFB ships.  Got a question though, this ship was never in SFB was it?  I never heard of it being in the SFB universe.  Is it stricly a Non-cannon Star Trek ship (or is it cannon)???

Also, wanted to ask a question sandman.  I like the blue labeling you have on the saucer.  I was thinking of doing something similar with my FCA on your website.  Instead of having red labeling, I was thinking of using light blue like this ship when I first started the project.  Do you think that would be too "un-like" Star Trek?
