Marshall Class Destroyer

Thanks to Atolm, The Marshall Class is now available.

The Marshall Class Starship is the next logical step in Starfleet?s Heavy Escort Pathfinder program. Designed and built by the Interstellar Machine Corporation, the Marshall Class bears an intense forward weapons array with little protection astern. Despite its weakness, the Marshall has proven exceptional in single ship-to-ship combat namely due to its excellent turning radius and high impulse speeds. During initial simulations, the Marshall Class was able to neutralize even ships as powerful as the Sovereign Class.

Good Job there Smiley, I bet you recognized the nacells from the HoloShip Concept.  I directly modeled them from those sketches.

Nice! If Intermech can make these fine TNG Feds, imagine what he can do for an adversary race!

not bad, but could use some work, like in the bow. Lacks phaserbanks or obvious weapon emitters..ect. Might be a bit too dark too.

Not bad design.  Very creative!  I don't know Starforce, maybe its got single emitters that point in the FA arce.  Limited, but able to carry more of a punch!  Maybe that is why he said it has a heavy weapons aray on top.  It looks pretty small, the pod on top might be the only place for any heavy weapons.

I like the design. IT is nicely done as well. I do feel that the nacels would look better with more polygons. Would help give em that fed roundness to it. The game can take 5000 polygons easily. At least in single player.

Right, The ship is so dark I didn't even see those launchers...

And I'll second the comment about needing more poly in the nacelles, not that I actualy think about it. Though this version would be great for the armada guys as a torpedo cruiser or scout.

Glad you guys like it. Upon mild inspection of the model (not the picture but the model) one will find two pulse phaser launchers tucked away and residing on either side of the forward deflector. The pod on top shoots quantum torpedoes and can be refitted to fire astern.  Trading in the pulse phasers will allow for more torpedoes and what not. You know the drill
The poly count is such that the ship will run smoothly on my computer (call me selfish but yes smooth running on my computer is a prerequisite for anything I produce). The colors are a bit dark adding to the overall character of the ship. I have no problem seeing it in my game. If it is hard to see you may want to check your specularity settings under the options menu.
As always, if anyone has any great aspirations and would like to cut the model up and modify it say, adding polies to the warp nacells, beefing up the pylons (the pylon issue delayed release for about a month), or adding phaser strips, go ahead! Let me know if you come up with anything that looks really good so I can add it to my game!\

Have a good one,

I hear ya with the poly count.  I try to keep my models under 2000 if I can.  It helps out in Multiplayer too so you can reduce the odds of lag occuring.  Besides, my computer system was brand now when SFC2 came out three years ago and no its practically a dinasour!  I hate that with the Computer industry, my system works just fine for what I want it too do but the industry doesn't think that.

Give it a try, I was able to beat the stock Sovereign, Galaxy, and War Bird and  in Skirmish mode. You just have to stay behind them. The specs are just a varient of the Defiant, you could just as easily do it with a Defiant I supose.

Hey man I am glad that the ship is such a low poly...My stuff(Hellions I mean)
came out Huge in the Poly dept(sorry everyone ...I'll try to do better )
I like this design because it looks Rugged...and tough...and not so much on the pretty side
but the Functional side...so it is believeable...Great Execution of the Idea!!!

Intermech-Thanks for the insight. I understand where your coming from with the polies.  Great little ship. Oh and Azel anything with 8 legs and appendages all over is bound to have a lot.

Hey! This is the only proof I have that I actually wrote something in this thread before I faded from existence!

So now I shall revoice my comments on this lovely little trooper; I think it is a wonderfully executed design and you can really see the inspiration that you got from the insurrection concept ships in the nacelles.
