If I had the money to buy the proper tools to do more than just retexture ships using other folks textures I would. Right now,  I can't even afford Milkshape given my employer's (the State of NH) fiscal situation and the threat of lay offs. I do have M-6, CV and the SFC3 model editor though.

Atheorhaven probably could use some relief from all the lighting/resizing work that has been sent his way, especially since he just completed a move.

In the old days, the SFC community used to have folks like Crymson who lit SFC1 models or kitbashes or even models made in modelling programs like Milkshape. When I say, " light a ship up" I mean as in terms of SFC2 not SFC3. Personally, I think the glow effects on some  SFC3 ships tend to be overused...

Model makers like Azel, Terradyne and others have lots of great models to offer us but either don't have the time or the tools to light their ships for SFC2/3.

Many of our cherished model makers are gone or overburdened with requests (including my share of those requests).

My question is, who is left available to help "share the load" if you will?

If you're talking about illumination maps, like to make the bussards glow or the windows light up, anyone with Photoshop or Paintshop Pro can do them. I might be able to squeeze a couple out, but my skills are not too good...but I can do an i-map. It's the rest of the texturing that gives me fits. Let me know what ones you need done, and I'll try to do a couple for ya.

I finally realized that Milkshape can't read i-maps correctly. They get assigned as transparicies instead. This is why my ships are not lit. I know some were trying to get me to correct the lighting on them, but I simply do not have the software.

I always tried to compensate by meshing the warps and buzzards as seperate groups so I could make those groups have diffuse maxed and the rest of the ship minimized but people always asked where the i-maps were then.

I believe Atolm has this same problem. So yea it would be nice if someone would assign them. I can make the i-map textures no problem, its just getting them assigned with max or whatever.

Terradyne,

That's a beautiful little Romulan ship. She looks great! My question is, have you put her into SFC:EAW or OP to see if she is lit up?

I'm just trying to round up some help for you.

HI Folks,

Terradyne's R-4 is a FASA Romulan design. You can read more about it here:

Should work in OP...same engine I believe. That's a cool little ship...wish I could do non-fed ships, but all my attempts come out looking like they been threw a blender.
