While the Cheyenne is on the back burner, I did this....
« on: June 30, 2003, 12:01:44 am »
Since I'm so out of practice, the Cheyenne is going on the back burner for awhile. I decided I needed some practice, so wanted something easier, to re-fresh my memory. It doesn't require as muck detail, so not as much to wreck.

This is another Pre-TOS ship from Starfleet Museum. The USS Moskva, NCC-324. I seem to do better with these old suckers, so I might as well refine my skills with them. How she look so far?

Whoa, thats way old-school. I'd fly that old girl in a New York minute! Post an update when you get to it!

That is a great ship Sandman.  Now why couldn't the show Enterprise make the ship like that?

Very nice! Any chance you might do the Paris class one day?

That's an interesting design...almost looks like what Enterprise should have looked like if they had gone by canon styling. That will be on my list...a few others ahead of it though.

Here's a few more shots...worked for about 3 hours this morning, got a little more done. I think she looks good, but was wondering...should I make the windows white instead of black? I can add a light map to white ones, but the black is whats on the pics. Anyway, at least this way I can see where they are. What do you think?

Cool Ship. Many wouldn't mind if you kept churning out museum ships. Not too many get released and it would be neat to have enough of em for a mod. Great work and fast too.

Thanx James. That's what I'm planning on doing...the designs are simpler and therefore perfect for working out texturing problems. Once I get these babies down, I'll move on to TOS, TMP, TNG and beyond...all in order. I figure that's the way to do it. I just get too frustrated trying to make a P81 class model and winding up with something that no one wants. Oh well, I'll get better, and I'm doing it the right way this time...taking my time and letting the knowledge embed itself in my damaged braincells.

OK, got a little more done tonight, almost finished. Looks pretty good, but then, I'm justufying. I will state now, anyone who wants to re-work the textures is more than welcome to it. What do you think so far?
