Just in case anyone is interested, the BaQ will be making it's first appearance in SFC trappings in the latest version of the TNZ mod, available soon from Battleclinic.com. Cheese was thoughtful enough to provide me with a preliminary SFC-friendly textured model for us to play with while he continues work on the final product. I'll wait to post a download for this ship on my Nightsoft webpage until the final release version is ready for your gaming pleasure. Thanks go to Raven of Nightsoft for the great ship design, TheBigCheese for the excellent textures, and to all of you fans who make me want to make models.

Yes its just a prototype I rushed through for the TNZ mod, I shall be fine tuning the engines and doing sea trials within the next couple of weeks but at the mo I am up to my eyeballs in real life issues so I will get back to working on it soon

I think Raven means the final texture version you were going to do. I realize that you probably won't do one now, but earlier you said that the current one was just until you had a chance to redo it. I have since taken the liberty of doing a touch-up job on the textures myself, just for the TNZ mod, but I want to keep those just for myself.

FYI Raven, I think this ship is as done as it's going to get. I know the textures are not what you had hoped for, but they are still better than I could have delivered. Much thanks to you Cheese, for your outstanding job!

I plan to do a final version but not at the moment as I have all these models to do for TNZ mod and texturing takes a long time to do compared to making meshes I have found.

Ok, well, you can send the model to me in mod format with the current textures, and I can tweak them. This way I can purchase the model and get you guys paid.

I made those ships for him under contract. If he likes the ship, then he has the option of paying me for the rights to the model. The same is true of the textures, and since you did them, you would be eligible if you decide to accept his offer, although I'm sure you don't have to accept any payment if you don't want to. Personally, I rather dislike the idea of "selling" these models, but I have been without a job for several months and really really need the income. I draw the line at altering my artistic vision of the end product, especially when there is so little referance material to work from. Raven is coming along nicely in his meshing skills though and can almost make whatever nitpicky changes he wants himself. No offence intended Raven Anyhow, that's the story.

The details can be found on the concept page on our site. All of the conditions and payment levels are listed there. We have been known to pay more, and we do not pay much, but we release the ship for free, and you retain all artist rights to the model unless we release it commercially, in which case you get 10 percent of the profit margin for the life of the model plus full credits. The more work that is done on the model or textures, the higher the payment or percentage. For certain special models (like the Infinity) we will pay more, as we would need both high poly high detail and game versions of the model.

OK understood,

I dont require paying for the textures as I do it for fun.

Game work is game work though and I would need to speak on this privatly as I have worked in development before on an amateur level.

Sending it you now,

meant to send it sooner, sorry

I have been up to my eyeballs in work lately thanks to these damn viruses
it's suprising how many people who own as PC dont have a clue how to maintain it.

Excellent work........I would like to do two things.

I am not sure if this is the modified mesh I sent, as it looks a little tall. I would like to import it into max and reduce it's height a bit, maybe widen the wings just a touch.

Second, I would like to ask if you would be willing to make three maps for this model instead of just one. You can just make the others blanks, but I need three maps so I can remake and apply the new textures I am planning on making. You guys can use the new set or not, or just use them as a template for your own, as I can tell you make good texures (these are pretty good for a single map and 256). I would need the other two maps to have at least one poly assigned to it. I suggest one for the dorsal hull, one for the ventral hull, and one for details (bridge, front face, etc.).

If you are ok with the first, and willing to do the second, let me know.

I'm very interested to know as well.

In the last couple of WIPs she looked nearly complete. And those were in-game shots with texturing so I'd think she's VERY close to being done.

I've been looking forward to this ship since the first WIP!

I think TheBigCheese has dropped off the face of the earth. I would have to start from scratch to make the maps, and I don't have time for that ATM.
