My released ships revisited (6 images)
« on: July 12, 2003, 02:06:00 pm »
Been busy this morning. Decided to try my old geocities site again, until I get my main site fixed as far as d/l's. It's not fancy, but you can get  these 6 ships there. Please let me know of any problems with the site or the d/l's.

 SEDL downloads

My 1st ship, the USS DAEDALUS textured by Pataflafla

My 2nd ship, the USS GORGON (Centaur Class)

My 3rd ship, the USS AMARILLO

My 4th ship, the USS WASP

My 5th ship, the USS MOSKVA

My 6th ship, Klingon D-5 Battlecruiser

Very nice! Love the new D5. Will you be doing a grey D5 as well???

I'm getting alot of ?'s regarding a gray D-5, so I'll do that next...pretty much going to just grayscale the layer and resave in new folder.

I plan on doing more Klingon...thinking of the D-2 right now.

A note on the amarillo...I'll be re-doing the .mod file, as it is not sized properly. I was experimenting on a scene render for a new sig image, and the dang thing is about 25X too big.

Here is a shot of the render I did for my new sig image, and then you'll see the sig below.

Just so you know it's actually FAR to small in that last picture, a comparison with the Daedalus: Amarillo length = 126.18m while the Daedalus length = 104.49m, it's actually quite a bit bigger than the Daedalus

this fleet chart has the 2 ships in it: http://www.starfleet-museum.org/smallcruisers.jpg

Hope this helps. Oh and a D2 would be very cool and all you have to do to make a D3 is stretch the neck on a D2.

Sorry about this but I just noticed the Wasp is also far to small, this chart illustrates what I mean: http://www.starfleet-museum.org/cruiser-chart.jpg it's meant to be far larger than the Daedalus at 128.29m long, the primary hull is 6 times larger than the primary hull of the Daedalus. Unless you scaled the Daedalus to big I don't know.

Actually, scaled 'em to fit the sheild radius in OP for their respective classes. When I did the render, I just used the files on hand including size...didn't alter any except the Amarillo, but that was just because it was waaaaaaay bigger than everything else. I liked the look of the shot, gives it a look of spatial distance.

But that brings up an interesting point, and I think I'll go through and make a size chart for them, using the specs at SF Museum and Ex Astris-Scientia. Thanx for the idea!
