Once you have fired that probe Ive got at lest 30 seconds to warp towards you come out of warp close range under high impulse decloak and hit you chances are you wont hit me with a mine

If you go with your set up fleet up with at lest one other player DN's with am mins set on the rear heavy weapons points are sitting ducks most of the time I have chased of many DN's armed like that

What you could try (I have not tested it my self) putting the am mine layer on one of your foward fireing heavy weapons points keep the heavys to the back and use the fast dizzys as you foward fireing weapons

neat tactic ,, but aren't you forgeting just one tiny little  thing  ..  .he can also cloak and do almost the same thing to you

True but you can also detect cloaked ship while under cloak and roms seem to be able to pick up klingons better
Or at worst the mission ends in a draw as I wont decloak till he does

that is what makes rom vs kling fights a little boring for me..since i do exactly what you say and most of the times it ends as a draw..

 Neverthless, just to left clear one point, your tactic works very well against  non cloaking ships. I know, cause in the few times that i fly romulan , it is precisely what I do  and I even use the same ship ( raptor).

This is untrue. Romulan and Klingon computers are the same and the cloaks are the same (romulan cloaks are lighter, but not better or worse than klingon cloaks). It is true however that most Klingons don't fit lvl5 cloaks to their ships, while most Romulans do. That's why, on average, you can find a klingon earlier than a romulan.

Personally i don't like the all-plasma outfit idea, but that is just my personal taste. I like to disruptor them to death

Well I guess you could play cloak chicken  cloak then decloak to try to get the enemy to take a shot at you its risky and a good player wont fall for it

I always fit level 5 cloak and level 5 computer on my Klingon ships if I have the space as its space and PP well spent. I have to say I have played Roms and have whooped some Fed's arse's using that tactic, however I beleive I have the perfect counter stratagy. I would like to meet up with you and try it out at some point, its going to be more interesting though when the patch comes out.

A few things you might want to consider before sneaking up behind me ready to blow a hole in my rear:

1) I can HET 3 perhaps 4 times before I get a critical systems shut down
2) My manouverability is above 1.00 (wont say how much though :P)
3) I have level 5 tractors and transporters
4) Tachyon pulse on rear arch
5) Those pesky AMM mines

I have a few more things to say/try but will keep them to myself, fighting a cloaked ship and winning isnt simply reliant on using the games bugs there are ways of beeting the cloak you just have to think about it. The one thing I find though, is that most people tend to fit for Fed/Borg encounters, this situation wont last The only thing I can imagine is, is my poor co-ordination and (because I play FPS'ers a lot) tend to press W at the wrong time would get in my way of a victory. Erm well that and a counter to my counter

myo...tr...on..ic beams, AHHhhhh thats what they are for. Now I see yes, I have never used this weapon or been in its effect to my knowledge. Do your shields have to be down for it to stun weapons? I guess I'm showing my n00b status here to the SFC community but I honestly havnt seen this weapon before.

As for my question about the date, to me that means the 1st of March in a years time. This is due to me being stupid and us UK'ers having a different way of writing the date (day/month/year) not (month/day/year).

I shall have to look out for this weapon, maybe try flying Roms again to see how effective it is.

Uk'ers are not alone on the day/month/year.. we use the same method .. and it is weil somewhat funny since we also use the GMT time.

Ah yes the same here in Holland. But i know in which way the Americans usually write their dates.

Yes they have to be down for that, but actually a Romulan Raptor or Warbird can do that in one volley, and then fire the myon. It has great potential against Borg as wel,l because they don't have shields at all.
