SFC2 wacky errors...
« on: June 09, 2003, 10:19:44 am »
I'm playing through the SFC2 campain as the Feds.

Every once in a while I get a "Virtual Pure Function call C++!" and the game crashed.  I reinstalled, same problem.  Removed whole directory and copied off saved games.  The saved games were somehow corrupt, without them, the game runs fine.

Then I noticed that my saved games were disappearing.  I had 5 saved, then 3 then 1....

I can still play the game but every once in a while a game gets corrupted and I have to copy it off, and I have to have multiple saves since they disappear.

I did a scandisk, and I'm playing 5 other games with no problems.

Help?

I have never heard of this kind of thing happening before. I have also never personally expeienced it, nor has anyone else in my play group. I'm sorry you're having this kind of problem, though. That's pretty weird. It might be helpful if you listed your system specs, though (OS, Processor, RAM, Vid Card, Sound Card, etc) and if you are running EAW or OP. Also, when did this start happening to you - after a paricular pach???

System is:

AMD 1500 (aka 1800+)
512 mb ram
30 gig hdd
Geforce 2
Windows XP

The strange thing is, since this has been happening, I've also been playing MW:Mercs, Civ3, XBTF:Gold and Starlancer and have not had any thing like this SFC2 problem.  In fact, I also have OP and tried that for a couple hours with no problems.

A virus would have a hard time getting on my system, but its not impossible (no Internet at home...)  I'll have to break out the Norton's and install...
