For whom the bell tolls...
Julin Eurthyr:
Around 5:30 pm EST, I received the lovely "Forums are down for temporary maintenance" routine when I attempted to access the Taldren forum by direct bookmark...
Something tells me that the end of an era has arrived... :(
Confirmed, attempting to access the forums via the main site has gotten me messages saying that the forums are being moved, and that the DB is being sent here...
Fluf:
It is kinda sad. The only thing that keeps me going is knowing we are all still here, and Im not losing the friends I grown very fond off over the last 4 years.
Got a feeling its gonna be a very sad night! :(
David Ferrell:
Just remember:
1)No one died here.
2)You still have the games, no one can take those away from you.
3)Your friends from the old forums are moving here.
4)Access server support will continue.
5)It gets better after ORSE! (Nuclear Power joke) ;)

NannerSlug:
very well said fluf.. very well said..
its like i posted in the taldren forums.. think about what mc coy said to kirk at the end of ST 3 when he asked what he had done..
"Do what you always do jim. Turn death into a fighting chance to live."
Julin Eurthyr:
What I am moruning is not the death of the community...
However, it's not often that an independant developer opens up a game-related forum and that forum lasts for something like 4 years... I was around for 3 3/4 of it...
Taldren-CA (as it is now known with the advent of their new base in Korea) is just about dead. I think all they have left is the staff office party and the final clearing of the desks. And Taldren itself has probably reached the end of their reasonable support to the SFC community, needing to throw their entire support behind their new projects...
To Taldren-CA, goodbye. To the SFC community, we shall never die. We have weathered multiple flame wars, devisiveness over OP then SFC 3, the loss of multiple nutters / players of all types and the aquisitions of new ones / birth of new nutters. Something small like the migration to a new forum is nothing compared to what we've already squared off against...
